Would it be possible to get this phone, then cancel the extra smartphone plans after 1 month? I really want this phone, but I can't be paying all the smartphone charges, and I really don't require internet and email and what not on my phone.

I think there would be some kind of cancellation charge involved with that.
That's ok. I could see what was coming and skipped the paragraph.I apologize to all the spelling and grammer nazi's its late and I am tired
I wish this was a GSM phone. i hate phones that are locked to one carrier.

So who's ready for giant laser beam robots in the shape of DROID's marching down their streets shooting GIANT LASER BEAMS from their eyeballs like cylons down into the homes of every iPhone user rendering them...well, pretty much the same as they've always been!
BALLS!Dude! , I love you man..........![]()
The Droid and HTC's Desire hit 2 very different demographics...those that like to be able to function when typing and those that don't mind their entire fucking screen disappearing before their very eyes. Have you ever tried to edit a post on Hardforum w/ an iPhone? It's unpossible.*snip*
Did the G1 have a compass? It wouldn't be possible to do the Google Street thing wo/ one, right? I also see Dual LED flash instead of the rumored Xenon and what looks like a pre installed 16 GB SDHC card instead of built in 16 GB capacity. Oh well, we still get the 3.7" WVGA w/ WiFi on VZW.Also, I see no compass.
Awe, c'mon, there's a date there! November 9th, or November 2009!? Think of the poor sap who got the package!
Rumored $599 out of contract... - Ouch, this is going to suck if my deal doesn't go through...
I wish this was a GSM phone. i hate phones that are locked to one carrier.
Nope.AFAIK, the Verizon Droid is not a world phone.
hopefully they announce a date on a GSM version soon. this phone looks a little too big for the pocket, I know having large screens is nice but I wonder if this is too large?
I have big pockets.I had an iPhone for a couple of weeks and kept it in an OtterBox case, which bulked it up even more, and didn't have problems carrying it. But I could see a phone like this being a pain to deal with if your pants double as an ad campaign for your nads.
New short Preview of the DROID at BGR

After reading all the new stuff and seeing clear pictures I'm actually getting really excited about this phone.
I'd say shoe-in if I wasn't concerned about plan pricing. Part of the reason I wanted to go to Sprint was stellar pricing compared to Verizon. We'll see what happens, but this phone looks amazing.
