You want all those security holes? Your choice. Ranks up there with the people AOL has in their current ad campaign. It is based on the Internet Explorer browser engine

Shadow2531 said:Opera 8's default interface is super clean and bare. Mail client is disabled, Newfeeds are disabled. Voice, isn't installed. Only plugins included are flash and windows media.
Also, most of the panels are turned off.
And at any time you want all the goodies, you just customize the UI to your liking. No need to download, install, shutdown Opera and restart for each goodie you want.
(voice requires a download though)
As for ads, it's a skinny little bar with google text ads on it. Not really a big deal. As for the ads using bandwidth, if you had already blocked the sites the ad banner uses prior to using Opera, the banner won't use any bandwidth. If that's the case though, you should unblock those sites.
Google text ads are far less annoying than flash ads etc.
I myself do not think Opera is bloated.

If you prefer it to Firefox, go download regular Mozilla. Netscape is outdated Mozilla plus rebranding, but the same style of interface.Shadow2531 said:Just downloaded Netscape 8 beta.
I like it better than Firefox. (once you turn off some of the toolbar stuff).
