I think those are the industrial GPUs that Nvidia makes and why these are in short supply because in the same time it is better to make a 30-40K GPU than a 2K one.

Power consumption can be a problem but I would expect anyone with 4090 to have at least 1000W PSU and big case with tons of airflow. If power consumption was much better it might make some people upgrade but I would not say it is a main factor. As far as I can tell, the only problem the RTX 5090 has is the high power consumption and potential heat from the card, which is the main reason why some people don't consider switching.
GTX 480 was the time you could get cheaper Radeon 5870 that used much less power and going Nvidia didn't give you as much features. There was PhysX which helped (Nvidia) but many people were using tricks where they used second cheap card for PhysX.Something similar to what happened with the GTX 480 card and the Fermi architecture.
Techpowerup is the best for me, somehow the most comprehensive and I can see what I'm interested in the fastest.Especially for gpu card reviews.Who do you guys think are the best and most authoritative reviewers?
There is a beta driver in the CUDA toolkit, been using it myself. New drivers will probably be released next Thursday.Does anyone know why Nvidia hasn't released new drivers, there aren't any for the old series or the new RTX 5000?
I see that techpowerup used an even older version 566.14 for the RTX 5090 FE review.
Reviews got pre-release drivers and i wouldn't expect official drivers to be released til at least a day before the release.Does anyone know why Nvidia hasn't released new drivers, there aren't any for the old series or the new RTX 5000?

I really liked MSI's liquid cooled 4090 in a build I did for a friend. I think you're right and we'll start seeing AIO liquid cooled cards getting more popular.I suspect the next generation top-end gaming card will be liquid cooled to un-lock higher thermal envelopes.. it’s already happened at to datacenter level product.
Those card have yet to be released.... giving really little incentive to them to have public new RTX 5000 drivers, has no one has them yet.Does anyone know why Nvidia hasn't released new drivers, there aren't any for the old series or the new RTX 5000?

I think the next gen cards will actually have an improved architecture and will improve performance per/watt from the arch itself. and it will also enjoy a node shrink, for further power improvements. Therefore, there won't be a reason to icrease power or explore atypical cooling. Nvidia is coasting with Blackwell.I suspect the next generation top-end gaming card will be liquid cooled to un-lock higher thermal envelopes.. it’s already happened at to datacenter level product.
I already have 571.96 driver which has support for RTX 5090 and is a bit newer than 571.86 used by Techpowerup for reviews.Does anyone know why Nvidia hasn't released new drivers, there aren't any for the old series or the new RTX 5000?

Yeah, they're definitely coasting with Blackwell. But I'm not sure how much improvement architecturally can come at this point, in terms of pure raster performance. Seems we've pretty much reached a general GPU architectural limit on how to generate a 3D scene using DirectX. AMD are stuck, Intel aren't really trying it seems. I'm not sure nvidia is actually THAT far ahead in terms of pure raster, they're just willing to make 600w cards.I think the next gen cards will actually have an improved architecture and will improve performance per/watt from the arch itself. and it will also enjoy a node shrink, for further power improvements. Also lots of luck, you likely got in at the right time inventory was released for your area.Snagged a Founders Edition 5090 from Best Buy at 2:34 PM. They are clearly dropping throughout the day. This is not a "paper launch" but getting one will require extraordinary diligence and persistence.
lol okNot luck. I have a method.
Here it show quite the big difference in regular usage:I’m surprised Founders Edition held up well against the Liquid with noise at higher fan speeds.
I think I will become a reviewer now. At least I may get a card on release.
No. RTX in WoW is just a bit more realistic shadows, but it's not that noticeable, and very demanding. Is World of Warcraft worth checking out with RTX features? I may drop by Azeroth to see how it looks with 5090’s new trick bag.
I’ll be running an open case and I’m also having half a dozen children shipped in from an unspecified 3rd world country to wave big fans for me, thus blowing the hot air from my home.So how are we cooling this beast (Founders Edition)?
Dude...my man...they didn't just send these cards to reviewers....they sent them to any idiot influencer with a pulse....check this out...this bitch ass doesn't even know how to install a gpu

And if you think thats bad.....they even sent this idiot a card too.

I tell ya I'm a cunt hair away from boycotting 5 series.
Go external on the radiator. Backside of the case like I did. Problem solved.Do you guys think a dual chamber case is the way to go for Founders Edition plus an AIO for the 9800X3D?
I really like the Fractal Torent but I don’t see how i could have a 360 cpu radiator in it without starving the GPU of fresh air.
I have said it multiple times that people who complain about FG or DLSS don’t use it often. I use it all the time and it works fine many times than not. In even MP games with 30 ms pc latency BO6 is playable and I am as competitive as without it.
DLSS smearing and artifacting is also documented. For most games you don’t see it. It is in 2 games I am playing where I am seeing it these days but I have no choice but to use DLSS and FG as without it those games are not playable at the speed I want to play at.
I definitely will be jumping to get a 5090 asap when I find one. Thus far haven’t had luck with it.I c
I know I am not impressed with the driver but it is a launch driver and they will absolutely improve over time which they always do.I think once they update reflex a bit more even the slight lag feeling at 4X will be improved as well. That’s what happens when they updated reflex for FG before. Give it sometime. These drivers suck ass btw.
Oh boy, this is a ginormous card. Cooling and performance are excellent with gaming bios setting.

I really like the Suprim, both the liquid and air versions.Suprim is the one to own this gen.
Dat system be cookin... need a better setup to bring the temps to a reasonable level.I really like the Suprim, both the liquid and air versions.
With Furmark running AND Cinebench, w/ Noctua DH15 G2, I can get CPU temps as high as 95 degrees on 9800X3D. The GPU (Founders) never breaks a sweat. Temps about 80 on GPU at 50% fan speed. That is fine with me personally. There is no throttling.
This is with case with 180 mm front bottom intake, 180 mm top intake above CPU (positive pressure setup), 120mm exhaust, 120 front top intake.
