Borderlands 4

i'v ebeen trying to farm splatterhouse dude and genome and getting nothing.....I hate farming, its so boring but I need new weapons. I was really enjoying the game until this gear hole I got into.

Tried to also finish the last vault and was getting absolutely wreaked in the last horde area. the big shield dude plus 2 of those kinda monkey looking things with the super purple shields were just impossible for me to get through. first time in the game I've felt like I was playing the older titles where you get insta wreaked and feel like you can't do anything about it. I eventually gave up. the fun got sucked out of it.

Hell the boss farming is one of my favorite things about this one. I think it’s fun adjusting your build for various bosses to see how fast you can melt them. It’s pretty rewarding once you get the items/rolls you were looking for too.

I agree about the purple shield fucks though, those guys are harder than bosses.

I'm approaching level 40 and lately I've been rocking a pile of green and blue weapons that happened to have good stats. The only legendaries I'm using at the moment are a shield that was like 2X as good as anything else and a throwing knife with tons of uses. For the most part I find myself just wanting to just Jakobs everything in this game. Their shotguns are hit and miss (mainly due to ammo limitations), but prefer most everything else from them.

Combo wombo usually takes the purple ones down fast.

Sometimes I feel like I am playing the game without any clue to what I am doing. This game gives me that feeling lol.
I just have some random guns I don't know about, random powers based on a tree I didn't research and am level 36 and in middle city doing both sides and mains as they come.
I also don't know how much cash I got or which guns I keep picking up as I rarely change until I level up 2-3 levels which is now very slow.

Still having a blast and a good time in between some BF6 matches.

LOL :) I'm the same with this game.

Also playing and loving BF6, which makes playing BL4 not so fun due to the amazing weapons in Battlefield 6, those guns just have the loud chunk, chunk, chunk sound and deep bass feel, where the Borderlands weapons feel and sound like kids Nerf guns, pew pew pew.

It might play a role in the endgame mechanics, but right now I have $14,000,000 in cash and the most expensive thing in any of the machines has been like $400K. I've bought a few legendaries from the machines and they weren't any pricier than anything else. I know you lose a % when you die and respec'ing costs a %. I don't know if money is going to be a concern thanks to that % thing.
Ability tree-wise, I've done 0 research and am just rolling with Rafa's backpack guns ability. It's not particularly good, but I've just been lazy. I'll probably spec into one of the other builds once I hit level 50. That's kinda my plan for a lot of things.

They are a bitch until you figure out that shooting the horns off their bodies and shooting the pink clouds flying around them, you can take them down pretty easily.

I’m currently rocking a great build with Amon called freeze crucible, most of my gear now is level 50 legendary, I have the Hell Walker shotgun and the Hot Slugger. Some of the gear I acquired during missions, plus by using the golden chest keys. Currently I’m playing on UVH 2, which is tougher but better loot, I can still tear through enemies like a hot knife through butter, which is pretty fun!

I don't even know how much cash I have. But when the cost to rez increased to 110 Gs I was like damn son, that's quite a hike from the 50 Gs I was paying before.

Something I noticed the other day is that the vast majority of my own deaths are/were self-inflicted via my own grenades. I've occasionally died against bosses that flood the room with shit and you're supposed to hide in a safe spot, but it's usually my own grenades causing problems. Whenever I rock a throwing knife, I'll go long, long stretches without dying. They don't clear the crowds like grenades do, but I feel pretty bulletproof at the same time.

The RNG in this game is bizarre. Got two or three Legendaries in the normal vending machines last night. Three within an hour! When the game launched, I didn't get a single Legendary to drop for 20 hours of gameplay. Then I forced my first three from a golden chest, and after that got about one or two to drop in the next 10 hours from normal enemies or looting. For a while there, I didn't think they existed outside of random enemy drops. Never had one drop from a boss yet.

I also still don't get fishing.

I've kept all but one of my legendaries so far (a stronger dupe) and it looks like I've found 24 thus far. Some good, some not so good. Like the normal weapons, they tend to vary depending on the manufacturer. The best ones I've found are "TK's Wave," a shotgun that shoots 5 bouncing cannonballs, and "Atomic Slippy" a fish grenade that does crazy damage but kills you just as easy as enemies.

With fishing, as far as I can tell you just use your grappling hook to grab items out of the water. Most items are just throwable trash, but some are (occasionally good) weapons. They seem to respawn, too.

Randy won't close his mouth. I'm glad it's already discounted. I'll pick it up on a fire sale in a few months.
You mention "few months", got me wondering what Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas sale price might look like. It must be more than the BF6 release to already be on sale. I waited and skipped because of the supposed performance issues.

I love the "got you covered" grenades, but they will kill the shit out of you if you throw them anywhere close. I got one recently that has the rotating beams and it's AWESOME.

I know that and they still suck, especially at UVH5. The problem is how quickly the horn things grow back, it's damn near impossible when there's multiple.

RTSS just does the in-game overlay. Afterburner is what is feeding it the sensor data
I started using the hellwalker shotgun that does over 9000 dps, not only does it make quick work of the horns but it takes care of the pink clouds around them as well.

ok the Vile Liktor battle, although pretty easy, was pretty awesome. Felt like playing battletoads turbo tunnel but FPS with guns.

When does this game go into nighttime mode? I've had the game 2 weeks now, I'm only level 15, yet have never seen the game in the night.

Short answer: Yes.

I am curious though. Do you play in short sessions? Like two-hour tops?

If you're in the Fadefields, you can actually watch the sun move slowly across the sky. It should give you an idea of the time of day and how slowly the day progresses.

Two hour tops is short sessions? LOL

My typical playtime is like 30 to 45 minutes. I don't think I've ever played for an hour straight on this game, it's not that good.

But then again I don't have the time to really play any game for an hour or more. Maybe on a weekend I do, but I mix it up with several games I'm currently playing, like BF6, Diablo IV expansion, still a little bit of WoW, and BL4.

I think you've explained why you are not seeing nighttime. Don't take my word for it though...

A full day in this game is more than an hour. And I think once you exit out of the game and load back in, time seems to reset. The proof is noticing where the sun sits in the sky.

The game seems to be a bit sketchy on what time of day it is when you load back into the game. That's my theory at least.

I have a 9800X3D and a 5080 FE and BL4 plays pretty darn smooth for me. Never crashed and no hiccups.

I'm playing @ 3440 X 1440

DLSS + FrameGen X2

Settings = everything else highest and some ultra, except cloud and shadow stuff I have at high.
I have basically the same setup but with a 4090. Settings on Badass, 4k with DLSS. Game runs great, close to 120 fps all the time. I really think it's the 9800X3D. I wish I could turn dlss off because of the soft blurriness around the edges but I can't. I only get about 32 fps when disables. Needless to say it looks awesome disabled with clean sharp edges. SMH

I ran the 1st Boss like 20 times got some decent legendary and purples. Just killed that Drill guy Boss with Zane. I'm level 24 now played about 5 hours made sure my legs didn't get swole this time around. Took a warm bath and ate some pineapple and Orange Juice.

I used all my Golden keys

Killed the Ripper Queen I couldn't have done it without jumping and my Gold Key guns helped a bunch took me about 5-7 tries.I think I did the most damage 1st stage with SniperRIfle then I took out my Shotgun a Hellhound used that with Spamming Crosive Gernades. The Man in the Mountain the stuff there seems pretty hard I tried two world bosses both kicked my butt screenshot below two bosses for the price of one. You can't back peddle and step out of bounds either.

Well this sucks, 125 hours in just got Rafa to UVH1, and poof, power outage and lost em. Steam cloud was blank. Local saves nothing.

Ouch. This is why checkpoint systems with one save per slot suck and should never be used. At the very least a game should keep several auto-saves and at different locations so you can go back a bit rather than losing everything if your latest save glitches out.

oof, and i was mad when i had a ctd and lost a round in pga 2k25...
no rando number folder under here?: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 4\SaveGame (assuming steam)
This is where my local saves are.
