like the post above said, apart from flight and a well designed pvp system, none of those are going to significantly or fundamentally change the game. unique races/mobs/environments? every game has it's own lore and cosmology... the ability to change armor is a minor (but nifty) aesthetic issue. crafted armor is the best because this game doesn't endgame raiding right?
the xp requirement seems to grow massively as the levels increase. The game is great, I just hit level 24. You start feeling the grind around the 20's. One more level and I can get into the Abyss!!! I'm so poor I need to get some gear for my dude.

in the 20s, have you managed to level with quests or is it just basic grinding or a mix of both? if it's a mix, how much would you estimate is the grind? (i would include repeatable, 'coin' type quests into the grinding category as well, especially if you end up doing it multiple times).
lvl 6 and it's already seeming a bit grindy. Hoping it gets better! So far it's good, tho.
At 20+ it seems to start getting really grindy. Personally I think it weeds out people, but this is probably one of the harder lvling games thats been out in recent history - I have no experience of what it's like 30+ though.
This is actually an easy fix.
Thanks to the developers they have incorporated a way to make yourself invisible to /who requests or something. If you do /anon as a command in chat, it makes you anonymous and gold spammers cannot bother you with this garbage. This has increased my likeness of gameplay ten-fold. Hopefully they can get this under control.
Also, something else the GM's and devs need to look at, at least for Elyos side is the insane amount of bots near the observatory in Verteron and other areas.
You can still be whispered by PLAYERS. Gold spammers only whisper you if they can find you...
going invisible only protects you from gold whispers. it also stops anyone else from whispering you as collateral damage. as you can see from the screenshot above, the gold sellers have invaded the general chat channels as well. general/trade/lfg/class.... every single channel is being spammed by them. there's no way to stop that short of leaving them all.
I'm on the Lumiel server and have NEVER seen gold spammers on the public channels. I get a couple whispers an hour for to buy gold, but nothing that takes away from my experience.
well i haven't tested it out so i'll take your word for it. i was assuming you just went invisible totally, so you'd disappear from friends lists and what not.
in any case, gold seller whispers are now just part of the problem... you can see the same spam in all the chat channels anyway.

The Mercs left DF for Aion, when they started losing their advantage over here. So you guys better learn to get down and dirty. They will do anything possible for an advantage. When playing with them the only advice I can offer is keep your eyes on the community boards and take full advantage of all bugs/exploits as soon as you find them. Fight fire with fire.
What are you talking about.
are the Mercs like myg0t of mmo's or something?
I dont know what myg0t is but they are a group of extremeley competitive pvpers/griefers. They are known for hoping from game to game, burning through all the bugs and exploits to gain an advantage, and usually in the end, getting their ass kicked by the server and leaving the game once everyone else levels the playing field.
Im not 100% sure about their history I know they started on the first neverwinter nights, where they griefed and exploited so much so that the entire clan got a perma ban.
I'm trying not to talk to much shit because they are for the most part a very strong group of players, they each have the FPS/MMO playerskill but they have no honor, and just want to be on top no matter what.
A simple explanation: If they played WoW they would probabley get to lvl 60, kill all the newbs questing, deem themselves the winners of WoW, then quit when everyone else hit 60.
Sounds like every other ass hat online now myself included. At the moment this game requires a certain amount of ass hattery in order to get anything done. The zones are clogged with players. Once you get to the 20 plus zones its worse. Elten has no chnls to jump to so you are screwed. I am almost done there for the moment though.
I'm running mostly HP.

How did you slot an Orb and Tome in your main at the same time ??
So what is everyone slotting for manatones? (offensive type manastones ,phy crit, Magic Boost etc) or HP? My sorc currently has 2,110 HP with a whopping +42 magic boost. Sometimes with these PUG's when no one's around in the legion to group with. I end up offtanking, apparently the term "Assist" does not bode well with PUG's when cc'ing.
