    Just ordered an Asus P7P55D EVO (1156 - 4 slots, 2 channels) motherboard and saw in the manual that they recommend using a module in single channel (example: one in 1 and one in 2) to get XMP to work better.     thanks for your patience. i'm so sick of my imac/ps3 relationship that i'm pulling the trigger on a server that is a HTPC too and I think I have the right build so I 'm buying it. If I need a PVR I'll use a hauppauge down the road. canceling cable can be scary but I'm ready for it.

    found a replacement from a vendor at $75 USD. found one on eBay for $25 USD. Apple parts are slim pickens! Any opinions? I'm inclined to spend the extra dough so I can at least leverage the customer angle.
