Borderlands 4

I used someone's map on the Internet to find the silos to save time.

Truly completed (as far I'm concerned, I never 100% any game too much to play)...funny how with the latest patch I can even put the machine to sleep, come back the next day and it's rock stable. Also saved Quent this time around 😆.

You still have to make it to UVH5 😃

You must've stuck to the core missions. I've been at level 50 for a while and I haven't even been to the center area at all. Since you can replay any missions/bosses at will, I've been doing pretty much everything in my path. Those eridium enemies with the purple spikes are now popping up all the time and they drop boatloads of items. Once I learned to shoot the crystals on those guys, they're mostly a breeze. Especially if I have Rafa's cannons available.
It's kind of not in your best interest to put the main missions aside while at level 50 as you're missing out on gaining experience toward specialization points. I realized this after doing the same on my first character.

After about 160 hours or so I got my first phosphene a couple days ago:

And then to my surprise just today:

Not the best roll with the CoV license but I must say, the Bod is now by FAR my favorite weapon, absolutely trivializes everything at UVH5 with my Vex build.

Just curious, do you ever get the opportunity to level up or improve any low-level gear? My bank is full of legendaries I stumbled upon at lower levels. Like 30-40 of them. Is there any point to keeping any of that early stuff or should I just toss it?

I only keep my level 50 legendary gear and some purples, the rest I sold.

I just copy and paste them from Steam's guides usually not here. I'll post them from now on.
Most of them are coming from Randy Pitchford's Twitter/X account. But I guess by not going there you aren't giving Elon any monetization.

I don't follow Randy, but finding his account is rather easy.

No you don’t. That said, some items have fixed buffs regardless of their level, so they’ll still be pretty much as viable. If you’re looking at weapons and raw damage then there’s not much point in keeping them… EXCEPT for stuff at level 30..

When you beat the game you can start new characters with the campaign complete at UVH1 and level 30. If you don’t have good stuff at level 30 in the bank it’s a total slog, so it’s good to stockpile some good gear at level 30 or so. A lot of people recommend saving the gold keys just to give your new level 30 toon some decent gear to get going.

Good to know. I kinda doubt I'll start a new character to be pretty honest. I never did in the other games. I guess I'm mildly interested in the DLC gunslinger character, but none of the others really appealed to me much.

That was quick went from 4 keys to 11 in a few days it pays dividends to not game everyday.

Saving all my golden keys for when I hit lvl 50.

If you want legendary gear it's one of the best ways to get it, the legendary drops in BL4 is pretty thin, BL3 was a ton of legendary drop to BL4 with very little. Besides spending hours upon hours of grinding and farming for very little, the next best ways are the golden chest, knowing a friend who gives you legendary gear, or just buying items on eBay to complete your build.

The point of waiting until lvl 50 is that pretty much most if not all legendaries you obtain on your way to lvl 50 eventually become obsolete because most of their stats are level based. Sure, there is still the randomness factor, so there are exceptions, but the pattern I've observed is that once I'm 5 or so levels ahead the item's level, legendary or not, it becomes inferior to things that are dropping at your current level. So, I end up selling my legendaries simply because of obsolescence.

At lvl50, stats scaling no longer becomes an issue. You're entirely at the mercy of RNG.

I've avoided farming because there's no hurry getting to lvl 50 right now. I've found plenty of legendaries, some more interesting than others, through normal gameplay.

I found a lot as well, just not many from farming. I hit level 50 a while ago, so now I've been grinding my way to UVH5, currently Im at 4, it seems the drops got better once I hit 3.

I finally completed the core game today. I like the final city areas. The final boss was kind of a joke, though. For as long as the fight was, I probably only got hit maybe 3 times.
I was pretty thorough completing all the stuff in the different rural areas, so all the core missions I have left are in the city zones. Per the in-game counter, I've got 2-3 of each type of mission/collectible left.
The whole endgame UVH thing has no real appeal to me. The weapons aren't varied enough for me to care about collecting any more legendaries, either. I've got roughly 60 of them at this point and I still rock a set of purples as my primary faves. They just don't seem unique enough to me. Once I complete the city side missions this week, I'll probably bail for a while. Maybe even for good. I like the size and scope (and the platforming, oddly) but otherwise it's my least favorite of the main 4 games.

higher UVH ranks apparently dont get you more legendaries. you get the most legendaries on the normal difficult levels. UVH ranks just mean better quality of items dropped - so your chances to get a perfectly rolled purple are higher

How many you hours did you clock? I'm close to 40. You could find all the bobbleheads if your really bored.

No it isn't more, but it does seem to be some of the more powerful weapons and gear.

Per Steam, right around 90. I still have another 4 side missions in the main central city area (and whatever else those unlock), but I think the rest is completely done. Radio towers, screws, datapds, mines, etc. The game came out at a pretty good moment where I didn't have much else to play and I'm OCD with completing stuff in games like this. Once I finish these, it's time for me to move on the Outer Worlds 2. I don't think the game keeps track of the bobbleheads since they seem to respawn

I just picked BL4 up a few weeks ago and just started playing last week for a few hours, but I wasn't really enjoying it too much. I just wasn't really following the story too much. I played again last night for about 4 hours and I am starting to have a bit more fun but not like the previous BL games.

It’s a bit of a slog early on, that all changes once your build starts coming together.

I found the early sections kind of tedious (and pretty tough) but things pick up steam once you get that first "wow" weapon that truly decimates enemies. On the other side of that coin, it can be slow when you've been using the same weapons for 5-6 levels and nothing better seems to be dropping. Or you finally get a God drop and it's from a manufacturer you despise.
Borderlands is all about riding the dopamine highs and lows related to what weapons you have.
At least on my end of things, grenades (in particular, throwing knives) became even more important than weapons later in the game. I got to the point where I was going most of my damage with a constant flow of knives.

I just hit Level 19 last night and freed Zadra. I am starting to enjoy it much more now.

The map is about to open up quite a bit. I'd suggest going to one of the new areas ASAP. The game scales with your level, so there's no point to hanging around and leveling up unless you're just having fun with side missions. Go explore the new areas, and if it seems like you can't reach something, you probably can't. A lot of collectables are tied to the mission you're on so you can only reach them during those missions.

Just hit level 30 I thought that was a Grind I even ran some Bounties at level 28 screenshot is in the Ripper Room I ran it about 10 times failed a few.
I respeced and switched to the Nuke Cryo Suit instead of the Dome turret Special which i used for the first part of the game the Nuke is alot more fun. Finally got those 3 Driller guys on the Southern part of the Map XP isn't that good as Bounties what Moxy recommended.

You shouldn't really ever need to grind to gain levels. You'll hit level 50 with plenty of room to spare if you only do missions. You'll get pretty close to level 30 just doing the main story missions. There are nearly 100 side missions that'll grant you enough XP to gain an average of 1/2 a level each. Early in the game I was doing bounty board stuff frequently and there was almost no point. You're better off trying to get gear from killing random powerful enemies.

For my first run I kind of just did whatever I cared to, wasn't sure how much I'd be into it and if I'd even run the other VH's. I hit level 50 with tons of main mission left, so I learned that if you hit 50 before finishing the main mission that you're basically losing all the experience that could be put toward specialization points. Once you beat the main with one VH you can start another and beginning earning specialization points immediately whether you start at level 1 or level 30. Essentially if you might be looking forward to end game stuff at all it makes the most sense to finish the main story prior to hitting level 50. Once you do that you can run vile bounties which will get you to 50 quickly, then get to it with side missions, which is better to do as all the rewards will be at the level cap of 50.

I'm currently at UVH5 and rocking a nice build which can produce a ton of damage and take damage as well. My favorite gun is the Wombo Combo, for shields I switch between the super soldier and firewerks which is good for mobbing. I tell you getting top legendary gear besides the chest is tough even at UVH5, especially farming, I can see why some just buy the item on eBay rather than spending hours farming for it.
