    EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

    This is currently possible, there is currently nothing in the current firmware that will block a non-Dell drive been used in a 14/15/16/48 drive chassis - however, it will warn you that the drive is a non-Dell drive... This does not apply to the 24 drive chassis, and the storage blade chassis...

    Anyone see the new EqualLogic SAN Blade for the Dell m1000e?

    The EqualLogic Storage Blade uses the same firmware as the other EqualLogic products, and has the same functionality, so snapshots, replication, full VAAI support, SSD tiering, etc. I'll leave it to others to compare the offerings. As for useful GUI, that is a little harder to measuer, as it...

    Dual -> quad

    I know if you move from single to dual CPUs that you need to update the HAL on Windows, but if I move from a dual to a quad system do I also need todo this?

    Cisco 5500 switch

    Well what would be the price tag on a 4006 with replacements for the wsx5530? And what do the 24 or 48 port 10/100/1000 copper blades cost? I might as well give it a whirl? After all I might have just scored a few additional TB of storage for cheap already today.

    Cisco 5500 switch

    We have this switch in out server room with two fiber modules (wsx5530) and three ethernet modules (wsx5329). Because this switch is out of date I'm finding it hard to get info on Cisco's website about it. I'd like to add some gigabit over copper ethernet modules to it - primarly because we're...

    Ranma_Sao, The Win2k enviroment will be a heavily controlled enviroment, not locked down, just controlled. We do alot of strange things. As for why I'm using Linux as the base, resources, Win2K on top of Win2K I assume will hog a lot of resources.
