How to protect a Biometric Reader?
I have a gateway 450XL which includes an integrated biometric strip -- I have it setup to scan each boot, yet I question its durability. Any advice on how to protect the strip? Documentation from the manf states it is acurate till 1million swipes which I find extremely hard to believe...- netdale

Yea, I got it basically for 200$ plus 40$ (which is a testament to how gay Gateway has become to charge for a "box and shipping w/ insurance" to get your laptop fixed UNDER warranty which had cost ~400$ additionally). Thanks Evil - any opinions on its performance compared to similar notebooks...- netdale

Use FTP/POP/SMTP/SSH - I already have a linux box which I use as a reseller box and I pay for from a 3rd party, I just have NO access to any of these protocols. In no way am I violating the AUP by pursuing methods to access these protocols within the current network/proxy configuration...- netdale
