Thanks. Based on the Firing Squad X800XL roundup, it seems like the cheaper X800XL cards are much louder than say a MSI version with copper cooling. Personally, I think the X800XL cards are still a bit to high, except for lower ATI or Rosewell versions. I though if I stayed below the new card...
Does anyone have any feedback about the Sapphire X800 Pro card? I'm trying to spec out a card for a friend of mine. How is the fan noise on this card? It looks like it has a copper cooler, so the fan should be quiet. Is there a difference between the red or blue board versions. He is probably...
Does anyone know who makes and sells the Club3d cards? I've seen various reviews on the Club3d X800XL card, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Most stores that I found online were in Europe. Thanks.
Regarding the MSI and PowerColor card, is there any advantage of the video breakout box that the MSI card has? I noticed that the MSI card is not powered and the audio connector is on the breakout box and not on the card. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Since I'm not a big gamer, I thought the Sapphire x800 Pro at $275 was pretty good deal. But at that point, perhaps I'm better off getting either the MSI or PowerColor x800xl card. I definitely don't want to spend much more than that and I'm hoping for a pretty quiet card.
I would agree. I have bounced back and forth between a few sites and the prices keep changing. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it, since they only change by a few dollars. At this point, the X800 Pro's are looking really good, since they will be in the low $270 soon. I think...
I noticed that MSI has a different type of adpater for their video features. Perhaps having a breakout box for the video functions is a better design. I haven't found many reviews on this card yet.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the MSI X800XL card? I recently read the X800XL roundup article and the MSI card looks like it got a good review. I like the fact that the card runs quiet and has a copper cooler. I'm trying to narrow my choices down to the PowerColor and MSI versions...
Does anyone have any thoughts between the X800 Pro and X800XL, when it comes to pricing? I know the X800XL is a better card. However, I have noticed some X800 Pro cards really coming down in price. Newegg has the Sapphire X800 Pro with VIVO for $275. The PowerColor X800XL card with VIVO is...
Thanks for all your reponses. This is a tough decision, especially since the prices appear to be all over the place. I guess I can't go wrong with a retail X800XL. I just thought for a few bucks more I could get the same card with VIVO. For example, I called PowerColor this week, hoping to...
I'm still trying to decide on a new video card and need some opinions. I would like to get a card that has the VIVO option, but I'm not to crazy about some of the vendors like PowerColor because their cards seem pretty loud. Newegg has a Sapphire X800 Pro with VIVO at a decent price. Outside...
In my un-ending search for a new video card, I'm a bit confused about the VIVO option on some video cards. I'm using a Dell 2405 LCD and would like the option of Video In - Video Out. I noticed that some of the cards, like the PowerColor x800xl, are a few bucks more for this option...
