Well, if people don't want to smack me over the head yet with all my upgrade questions so far, I appreciate your patience :)

First of all, as spec'd, here's the upgrade (note: the case has been changed to a Thermaltake VH6000 Armor+ case, same price tho) :

My question is this.... seeing as I'm looking at doing the build during the first few days of January (when I have all the money consolidated and the GST goes down a % (yes, I am canadian))...

**Is it worth it to wait for the 780i and a Q9300 quad or go with this setup as it is?**

I will NOT be using triple SLI, the middle slot will probably be filled with a physics card once physics become more mainstream. This system will be used for 85% gaming, 10% video editing/compiling, and 5% multimedia (ie dvd watching, music station feeding a stereo in my room, etc). I am looking to have this system to be about 2 years future proof, meaning that it will be able to play games that come out from now until mid 2009 without too much of a problem. I am also looking at the possibility of a light overclock to the CPU if there is a bottleneck with SLI.

Just thought I would add that the computer will be running a 2560x1600 30' Dell 3007WFP-HC main monitor and a 22' Acer 1600x1080 secondary monitors. My main gaming screen is the Dell, and I do NOT need this to run a game at absolute max settings. I know it's a mid-range system. I think the highest AA I've ever used has been 2xAA, so I don't need a GTX or an Ultra with the 8xMSAA. I just want something that plays DX10 games decently and smoothly at 2560x1600 with no AF and no to very little AA.

I would shy away from the 680i boards, because;

A) Their have very well known problems with OCing
B) They have VERY well known issues with Quads

If you are going to stay with one video card I would strongly suggest a P35 chipset board. I'm partial to the P35C from Gigabyte.

I like the PSU you chose but for a little cheaper and a different e-tailer you can get a 620HX . Its a great bang for the buck.

If you do decide to get that P35 board get a GTX or Ultra because those would be the only ones able to power a 30" monitor. Also if you get an eVGA one you would be able to Step-Up when the D9E come out.

Hope this helps.
