Well, I'm not completely sure where to post this. But I'm pretty sure it's a problem I'm having in XP itself, so I'll ask here.
I recently purchased an Avocent Switchview 2-port DVI switch. I have everything hooked up properly, but my PC won't pick up the signal from the usb hub. So it won't transfer over my keyboard and mouse, just video.
This is not the only hub it's had problems with. I've also had a problem with the 2 USB ports and the memory reader on my 2405. Couldn't get that to work at all.
The switch seems to work just fine on my Mac, but it absolutely will not talk with my PC. There's a light on the front that stays lit green if the PC is connected, or flashing if it's not. Well on my Mac it's solid and on my PC it's flashing. Even when the cable is plugged in.
In my device manager it lists it as a Generic USB Hub. When I plug a mouse in, it will list it as a USB Human Interface Device, but it says it cannot start it. The Light in the mouse will come on like it should be OK, but nothing happens. I've tried uninstalling and then adding new hardware, only to come up with the same results.
I even just reinstalled windows because I thought it might've been that. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
System specs for some reason if you need them
