I just recently bought an Xbox and want to start modding it. What are some of my options out there. What are the steps in which I should do these mods? I am looking to improve it visually but also usablity/performance. What's out there for me?!

first go to

www.xbox-scene.com

then find out what version and u can go from there...mine is a homebrew mod. only downfall to that is that now they are puttin files on dvd's and games to try and fry mine. but i have my ways around that shit. GO F*CK YOURSELF GEORGE LUCAS. FYI star wars triligoy will fry it

anyone know which is the preferred version of xbox for good modding results?

i wouldn't mind picking up an old one for cheap, even if it has read errors i can just purchase a replacement drive.

every modded console i've had just caused headaches, however when it was working it rocked

Any version is good, but the later ones tend to have the better drives. Most people will tell you to avoid the latest version (1.6) because it will require you to do the LPC rebuild to correctly install a mod. For any experienced modder, it's only an extra 5 minutes.
