I have a Antec 480 and my hard drive and video card are sharing the same cable. is this ok for my card?

not ideal, but it prob will work since hd's dont draw much power, bu if u can get a dedicated line

just one, but i have a 2 fans hooked up and my cd drive and antec gave me 4x4pin and 4xsata with the psu i wish they gave me more 4pins.

u got 4 , 4 pin connnectors right?, if so just route ure hd and fans throguh 1 and use the other 1 for the video card and then just leave the other 2

yea im gonna go look in there at my wire mess (small case  ) i think my harddrive takes sata and maybe even my cd drive. that should leave me plenty of options to give my card a dedicated line. thanks for the help

sure glad to help, just try to use a dedicated line and ull be good 2 go

What exactly is a "dedicated line"? Is that supposed to imply the power is not shared between that and other 'lines'?

Yes that is right, meaning ONLY the Video Card is hooked up to the one line, nothing else.
