What exactly is a TMA? A microcell requires no amplifier.

Tower mounted RX preamps, have very tight cavity type notch filters integrated. We used to install them a lot with the microcells.

Alas, there are no more in my pile however, just some Metricom/ricochet 2.4GHz stuff.

Microcells do not use external receivers. They are mini cell "sites" that use your internet capacity as backhaul. No RF connection to the plant is needed. There is no external or mounted antenna needed.

I appears that more than one equipment has gone by that name then.

The "microcells" I was installing, and then later scrapping, were tower bottom cabinets supporting 6 coaxial connections.

Not a problem. I found what I was looking for and it appears to be out for delivery today.
