I've run both, you won't see enough real world difference with that change IMO. Your best bet it to just overclock it to the max, as long as temps are ok just crank the voltage to get 4.6-4.8ghz out of it.

If thats still not good enough, you should look into haswell if you want to keep your ram. A 4770k or 4790k and Z87 or 97 board is a decent actually noticeable upgrade from a 3570k.
