I buy used/refurbs...however...
I wouldn't buy this..even if it was new. However it is NEW with a 3 year warranty.

Hmm..

If your into buying refurbs look on eBay and do some comparison shopping and you will get an idea of what I mean. Some brands are dirt cheap nowadays. Look for eMachines on eBay..particularly the M6... series.

For an educational system this deal can't be beat. Looks good

Good Luck

The specs sound a bit skimpy to me. Not even an external floppy drive?

Yeah, the coverage is the nice thing. I know its hundreds more w/o the discount. Perhaps overpriced to begin with. I think a CD burner upgrade is 50.00. I had actually never intended to have a floppy, just a pen drive.

My school has about the same discount

D600
1.4ghz
SXGA+
512 in 2 DIMMS
40 gig 5400 rpm
802.11b/g
CD-RW/DVD-ROM
I even threw in a Modular battery
3 year warranty with complete care

1400

or you can drop the hd and the optical drive and the battery to make it 1200

I'm thinking about buying a D400 from them though....I can price it out to like 1200 easily without skimping.

I would not.

I think it needs a CD Burner/DVD ROM, 521mb instead of 256mb.

I have ony 256mb of ram and I sure wish I had more. 512mb is really the way to go.

If it is possible for you to get the 2200 instead of the 2100, you'll have better wireless longevity.

Finally, I assume it has a wired network card?
