Ok so now i got a iBook. Do you know of any companys that sell external antennas?

Eh, because i was WarDriving with my PC lap top. now i want to with my ibOOk.
When i say wardriving, i do not mean using their AP, i mean loggng.

Honestly, I don't know your answer, but my guess is that if you wanted an external antenna, then you would need a PCMCIA wireless card or a USB card. I don't know of any way to hook an external antenna to an AirPort card.

If I remember right, I THINK you can get an Ornico Gold PCMCIA card that has a place to attach an external antenna, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, that is a good place to start looking.

Besides, do you really need an external antenna for wardriving? I mean, I have done it using KisMac and the AirPort card from my PowerBook Ti. I was able to find several networks just by driving along with it in my passenger seat. But with the version of KisMac I used you have to have an AirPort card and not an AirPort Extreme.

I was suprised at the number of wireless networks I found on my 5 minute drive to work. There are like 30 some between my apartment and my office. I found some of the restaurants I like to go to have free WiFi access that way. I'da never known otherwise.

Well yeah, Me and some buddies (yeah were all geek's =/) Would go around on saturday nights with our 5db 'tennas and windows lappys. Will the Ornico fit in a ibook?

Actually, no, I don't think so as the iBook doesn't have a PCMCIA slot. As far as I know on this one, with an iBook, you are stuck with the airport card only....or I guess maybe you could find an external USB wireless NIC. I'm sure there are some out there that will work for you. Since you got an iBook, you'd better start looking for USB NICs.

That does not help me... I just bought a iBook, and yeah i saw that site. i wish i had a PB>

buy a bezel for a screen and steal the antenna out of there?

that's about all i can think of.
