Wireless Print Server Question...

I have a friend that got a wireless print server, and he can print fine. He has a 4 in 1 unit though and didn't consider scanning when he got the print server. Is there any way that the scanner can still be wired to the computer and the printer is on the network? He wanted a print server so he doesn't have to worry about which computer is on for the printer, so sharing the printer from a computer on the network is a last resort. Any suggestions?

Just hook up the printer to the computer you want to scan from with the usb cable and leave the wireless settings alone. Then load the scanning/imaging software for the printer on that computer. The other computers on the network will still see the print server and the hardwired computer should now be able to scan.

EDIT - Disregard...didn't realize that print servers utilize the usb port on the printer.

wont work at all. when you use a print server, like the ones the size of a bar of soap, you lose all multifunction functions

Thank you. I didn't think there was much that could be done, but I thought I would ask around, at least make him feel better.
