I'm wanting to make my desk look really neat and organized for when I get my LCD in. I was just wondering whats a good coreless mouse/keyboard? How often do you have to charge them? How often do you have to replace the batteries? How are they for FPS games like Half Life. BF1942, and Doom3?
 
I just grabbed the MX duo about two weeks ago... it's been one of the best purchases I've made for the PC. The keyboard only uses power when you are hitting the keys, I'm hoping for good battery life from it, the mouse is rechargeable and is awesomely accurate and has a substantial feel to it. Logitec designed it nicely to fit the hand comfortably.

I just put my MX700 in the cradle every night when I go to bed. Never have to worry about battery dying. The upcoming MX1000 uses a lithium ion battery, so it should last longer.
 
i have the old logitech cordless mouse(right before the duo came out that comes with a charger) ive had the same AA batteries in my mouse for like 3 months.. and it never turns off.. so yeah they last.. just when your not using the computer put the mouse on the charger..
 
The MX series are the best wireless mice for gaming. Many people use them and love them, but it's not a surprise that most serious (read: very serious) gamers still use corded mice. While I didn't really notice lag per se with my MX700, it did feel a bit less responsive than a corded mouse, not to mention the battery made it fairly heavy. This didn't bother me at the time, mind you, but when I switched to a corded IE 3.0 I was amazed at how much easier it was to use, especially in FPS. Maybe it was the extra inertia of the heavier MX700.
 
MX Duo is the bomb. I've had the original batteries in mine--both keyboard and mouse--for it seems like a year and they are still going strong. I use my PC most evenings too just no daytime use.
