I'm about to take my Linksys WAP11 out to the street.
It has been a consistent frustration with configuring it as an "access point client", and I've just read many others have had the same problem. Works great as an access point, but all other configurations (bridge, ap client, etc) REQUIRE it to be communicating with another WAP11 or Linksys BESFR11, which I am not doing so (I have a Toshiba WRC-1000). Besides that, I think it's just a piece of shit. I've tried the D-Link hack, which is neat, but I seriously think issues exist with the hardware. I'm not going to look to Linksys for wireless product again, but rather something more compatible.
Does anyone have any recommendations as far as what would be best to use as a repeater/ap client? I've been looking at the D-Link Repeater Bridge, which seemed much more attractive when I learned that D-Link has exceptional firmware. Anyone?
