I just bought my wife and Kindle with the wifi. The problem is that we don't have wifi in our home. Right now I have 2 computers linked together with a regular router. I really don't want to buy a wireless router just for the Kindle. Is there anything I can get that is reasonably cheap just for a Kindle? It's either that or she drives to McDonalds and sits in the parking lot to download books.

Best bet is a wireless router. Thing is for the price of that or a wireless card to bridge you could have bought the kindle with the cell modem in it which is the way to go. If you have the option of returning it for that it would be the best bet.
Other then downloading books from other sources and copying them via cable I'm not sure you have many options. If one of the computers is a notebook that has wifi bridging the wifi card would be the free option.
I bought her from Iowa. And I don't think it's possible to get a good deal on a wife.
touché salesman. upfront the deal looks good, but you always end up paying out the ass in the long run
if you have any computer skills at all, you can get a wireless USB adapter, stick that in your computer, and setup the connection to be an AP and bridge it with your wired internet connection. this way you connect the kindle to your desktop to get online. this only costs you $15, and you can only get online when your PC is on, but if that is all you are using it for- you dont need a new $50+ wireless router.
