windows xp MCE problem: quick launch programs auto-close

Hi all,

I don't know if any of you have this problem, but I recently installed windows xp MCE 2005 and am experiencing a rather annoying bug. everytime i leave my machine on for longer than like an hour without using it, when i come back and click on a quick launch program like winamp, it opens and closes real quick.

what is even weirder is it does this for only some applications sometimes. i've had dreamweaver auto-close on me and calculator. i was wondering if anybody experienced the same problem and could offer a solution. I regret purchasing MCE. Thanks!
