Looks i'm needing to reinstall windows soon. Just alot of junk, that I wanna get rid of. I'm curious if XP 64bit is worth it? I've heard all sorts of things about it. It's faster, slower, the same, etc. I found drivers for all of my hardware.

You're best off dual booting. You can run the trial for free for 120 days. By then you'll know if you want to keep it and lose 32 bit XP.

Many people (including myself) prefer 64 bit. Others think it's a waste of time. Your experience depends on your hardware, software, experience and willingness to tinker. If you're impatient, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, go for it...

I wouldn't recommend using it on your main computer at this point, especially if your doing something important like school work on it. We had a thread where someone's 64 bit system went all screwey and wouldn't boot, and he couldn't get to a term paper he needed the following day. If you can stand to tinker with your system, and you have your data backed up first...you have nothing to lose by trying it.

i run x64 and it was really fast on my setup, until i installed talisman desktop mod. i dont think its ment to run on x64.
the main things about x64 are drivers.
i dont think x64 has the latest active x (release 9.0 c or something i dunno :p )
and they dont seem to have .net framework 2.0 yet. i had to download the developers toolkit to get it and thats like 300 mb
and ive been having some wierd crashing lately but i think it might be talisman (but not sure)
just totally randomly my system will turn off.
and some programs dont function properly.
if i have to reformat my system ill prob just go back to xp pro for now.
i reallylike x64 but i dont think the software world has enough options for it yet
