Hey, all. I'm picking up the last pieces for my new rig this weekend, and I'm unsure if I want to make the leap to xp pro 64. I've heard of problems with printers, virtual cds, and older games, but what is meant by older games? How old of games are have problems with 64? I don't have a printer so I'm not really worried about that, are there any other major pains that people have ran into? :)

There are still quite a few driver issues out there, but it's mostly pretty stable. If you have your final config picked out, I'm willing to be a lot of us have similar hardware w/XP64 rigs. Should be able to point out any known issues.

I would just check websites of your hardware and see if they have drivers/updates for x64 same with the games you have.

xp64 is a little biatch that needs to be tamed.

I don't have time for that BS. I'm still us 32bit one.

lodingi - I have the same router and have no problems with it under x64.

The biggest problem I had was anti-virus. My McAfee would not run so I tried Avast and I think it's better. HP Printer works but only by using a work-around... drivers coming soon they say.
For activeX and a few other things there is a 32bit Explorer version that comes with the OS. I usually use the 64bit version for browsing and I run into a lot of stuff it won't display.
