win xp problem installing

So i've got a xps 600 and i have the f6 drivers. When the OS goes to install upon deleting the partition and then formating. After reformating the c: drive it says please wait at the bottom of the installtion screen. Then it comes up with a message that "the disk or cd may be damaged" i click enter to continue and then it asks me to make i have the nvidia drivers in the floppy. After that it tells me the same thing about not reading the disk or cd becuase they could be damaged or the wrong one.



Anyone run into this.


I've tried 3 different windows xp cds.
 
Sounds like you could have a faulty CD drive or data cable going to the drive.
 
Make sure you're installing all of the drivers that you need to for your motherboard. I had a motherboard that required 3 different drivers to be installed before I could get through the textmode setup.

Also, double check that the floppy disk is working. I'm slightly confused by your situation because it should make sure you have the drivers before it formats your drive(s). Buti f it's asking you for the Nvidia drivers, then telling you that it can't read the disk, it sounds like it can't read the floppy. Maybe clean the drive and try another disk?
