Will these work for my application.

I am quite ignorant on all of this.

Will these products work (and work well) to connect a Ubiquiti DM to a Ubiquiti switch? Both have SFP+ connections and the distance is about 85 feet. I would like 10G capability, maybe even 40G for future stuff (less likely). As far as I can tell, they should. I am verifying.

Amazon links.

My experience is that connecting between them with what you linked will connect at 1G. The only things I have that actually connected to 10G are my 16 port and 8 port Aggregate switches. I connected all 4 switches and the UDM to my 8 port Aggregate switch and they all connect at 1G. Even swapping out the all the Fiber and plugs made no difference. YMMV.

I’m currently using optical cable to connect switches, which appears to be 10G. Correct me if I’m wrong. The cable was properly terminated for Ubiquiti when I bought it. This time, I’m buying separate plugs and fiber cable to run through the conduit more easily. The cable appears to be more robust (outdoor rated).

I need to run another fiber cable to an 8-port POE enterprise switch (exactly the same model as my current one) to service a new building under construction. The existing cable is scratched up but serviceable. It is indoor-rated, very thin and inexpensive.

I thought it would be easier to replace the damaged cable while I’m up there, as the cost is insignificant compared to the hassle of deploying it.

I'm going to try SFP+ to copper to see if it upgrades.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I've also used DAC cables with the same results.

If they are close, just buy a 10Gb DAC cable from 10GTek on amazon?

or you noted some outdoor stuff, what is the distance?

if you wanted something like more trustworthy that random Amazon no name brands for parts, check out fs.com
