My buddy has this on board video, Intel GMA 900. Perfect for what he needs. But we can't get the thing to run at 852x480 for his plasma. Have briefly tried Powerstrip but not with any success. Does anyone have any tips?

In general, powerstrip will not do custom resulotions while using an integrated video chipset. The intel GMA 900 may be a special case, but its best to stick with a nVdia or ATI card.

This link may be of help, I used it and after a few minutes of tweaking I was able to get a good working resolution on my sony 36" XBR TV.

yes, power strip usually works with the ATI and Nvidia ecellerators. not many onboard video chips are supported.
