About ten days ago, I went to start my computer but my monitor refused to show anything on screen. Its LED would stay orange even after repeated reboots. Through some trial and error (and the luck of having two other graphics card to swap in), I was able to pinpoint the problem to my MSI R4870. So I mailed it back to MSI in hopes of a replacement.
Anyway, today I got my graphics card back from MSI (I can't tell if its a replacement or just fixed). ...and I still get the no-input error when I try booting with it. However, I discovered a really weird solution to my problem. If I disconnect/reconnect my USB devices and then try to boot, my monitor is then able to display stuff with the R4870.
Specs:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R
Video Card: MSI R4870 1G
Memory: 2Gx2|GSK F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ
PSU: SEASONIC|SS-500ES 500W
OS: Vista Home Premium 64
I'm posting on that computer right now. It just doesn't feel good to have to 'jump-start' (so to speak) my computer every time I have to boot it up. Any thoughts?
