Hi,

Anyone have any idea how to do the following...

WindowsXP --> INTERENT --> ZyXEL Prestige 652 --> Windows NT Server

I am trying to VPN in with no luck, even opening everything up (firewall, encryption) I still get an "Unable to connect" error. Firewall logs are no help either.

Forward port 1723 TCP to the LAN IP of your NT 4 server, and allow IP type 47 (GRE) to pass through.

I'm trying to remember where allowing GRE on older Netgear routers is, in the telnet menu...I don't believe it was something available in their bland web admin. Just to be clear, IP type 47 is not a port...but rather a type of IP traffic, that is often blocked.

Anyways, what specific errors show up when you try to connect? Is it a second NIC on the VPN server just to receive VPN traffic? Anyone monitoring the RRAS on the NT box, or event log errors at time of attempt?
 
I've setup 1:1 mapping, and as far as I can tell from the Prestige's documentation, that's all I need to allow port forwarding for 1723 (assuming for now I have the firewall turned off).

I can connect accross the local LAN to the VPN fine, just when I try from the internet on a remote client I get "could not connect" errors.
