Vista-XP Hardware compatibility issues?

Does anyone know if there are any pieces of hardware commonly used in desktops or laptops that work EXCLUSIVELY with windows Vista? I am preparing to buy a $2000+ laptop and want to make sure that if it has Vista I can junk that bitch.

Regardless of the good experiences some of you may have had with Vista, I am staying with XP and want to make sure that that wont be a problem.

Are there any major hardware categores known not to be supported by XP but ARE supported by Vista:
64 bit processor support?
SATA?
Higher level graphics cards?
 
Is it still cool to hate Vista? Anyway, I don't think you will have compatability problems considering XP the most widely used OS.
