USB wont boot..

Alright, so i got a new printer for xmas, its USB, but when i plug in the usb cable, my computer stays in the windows screen, when i unplug it, it will boot up fine.

Why is this?

Drivers ?
Conflict ?
Is the USB enabled in the bios ?
Do you use anyother USB devices ?
Other hardware ?

If you have any other USB devices unplug them and see what happens. I have never heard of a USB device conflicting with another one before but with 98SE anything's possible.
