USB charging while computer off?

I searched in the forums and tried googling it but couldn't find a straight answer to this.

How do I charge via USB with the computer off?

I use a Razer Mamba that I need to charge every few days. I can currently only charge it on the dock while the computer is on. I can plug it in direct to usb while using it but it is impractical with my current setup (I sit about 4-5 feet away). I used to have a P5Q-E and even when the computer was off, it still charges usb devices. I currently use a P8P67 Pro and it doesn't seem to do that anymore. So now I have to use a second mouse for when the Mamba is charging. Is this motherboard dependent? And is there a way to "switch" that option on?

Yes, these features are typicially related to the MB. If your MB supports this you should see some options you can try out in your BIOS.

Bingo. Also, some mobos will allow USB charging when sleeping, but not when powered down, so you could try that.

Alternatives include a USB wall charger or a powered USB hub, and both are relatively cheap options. just make sure you research the hub before you buy it to ensure it specs out.

I didn't find anything in the bios. bummer. Oh well, off to buy a powered USB hub ;)
