I am upgrading my processor from a XP 1700 to a XP 2800. I was just wondering if I am going to need a new heatsink. Im not sure what kind of heatsink is currently on my 1700. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for a good upgrade. :)

What HS do you currently have, stock? If you do not want to spend tons of money on a new HS, and do not plan to overclock get a 2800+ with HS/Fan.
 
Im getting the 2800+ from someone, they are not sending the heatsink with it though. I wouldn't mind trying a little OC ing sometime.
 
I know AMD upgraded their stock HSF from the 1700+ compared to the 2800+, but I'm not sure how much of an improvement that was.

If you are planning on overclocking, you will definetly have to get rid of the stock cooler and invest some money in a better cooling solution.
