Unique Problem

So I just upgraded a few parts of my PC, and I have a pretty unique problem.

I upgraded my CPU, motherboard, RAM, and CPU Cooler, but not my hard drive. The problem is that when I boot up, I'm taken to the black screen that gives you the "Launch Repair Tool" and "Start Windows Normally" options. When try to start normally, Windows attempts to boot, but then I get a blue screen and it reverts back to the black screen. When I run the repair tool, it doesn't find anything wrong with the system.

Has anyone solved this issue or had this happen to them?

What OS do you have? Is it a retail or OEM key?
What are the new CPU and mobo you upgraded to?
Did you do a repair install?

It sounds like it might have to do with AHCI/IDE mode on your HDD, trying changing it in the bios of your motherboard and see if that fixes your problem.

Windows 7 Home Premium. It's OEM.
i7 3770K and ASRock Z77 Extreme6.
I think I did, but I'll try again.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing as PhantomTaco: Maybe you had IDE enabled in the old setup 's BIOs and didn't enable IDE in the new setup's UEFI

Glad it worked for you bud, was it in IDE or AHCI mode to make it work? If it was in IDE mode, go online and read about how to safely switch it to AHCI and make the change as it does improve performance IIRC.
