Well, it helps when you have a system in Japan whereby you have to contribute to UD to get access to porn. That is basically the philosophy behind those teams! D for Porn.

Is that seriously how that works with those teams? The only way we could catch up with them is if we converted all of our FAH's to UD. Or went on some crazy ninja-b0rg run where we break into huge office buildings and steal all their megahertz...

EasyNews has this program where you pay the minimum and then they give you free gigs to download more pr0n (or other stuff of usenet) for every X points. When they rolled out this we called them EasyPr0n.

You did say "those teams" as in there are more than one folding for pr0n. AFAIK only EasyPr0n is doing it. :p

Besides it seems like people are interested in some history today, so I am teaching the kids something now.

I could have sworn that Team 2CH was also doing the same sort of thing as Easynews...but now you have got me thinking. Anderu????

 
You won't have to worry about Easynews much anymore, most of their team immigrated to WCG after a bout with UD.
 
My recollection is that Team 2CH has been the leader for a very long time, pretty much since I joined or before. I am not sure if their HUGE cadre of crunchers was acquired through the promise of pr0n or just a really well organized recruiting effort, as it was already a juggernaut by the time I became aware of them. Easynews is a different story now.....we know how they did what they did. I seem to recall IBM Internal was a major powerhouse at one time as well, but has since fallen a step or two.

The Dutch Power Cow team used to be neck and neck with us, but has obviously pulled well ahead now, due to their increased capacity. Our daily output has remained the same or perhaps gone slightly lower over the past year.

First off, Anderu, good to hear from you again...though probably because I have been off in lala land for the last while.

I know I lost 90% of my production when we had to type in the password again during the summer. I no longer have access to those borgs...so they went by the wayside! Such as life. I am sure that others were in the same situation.

I have never been far from the [H] forums JTV. I just don't post all that much these days. I have gotten to the point where, unless I have something relevant to add, I resist the temptation to submit posts that have no more use than increasing my post count. ;)
