I've got a computer that I put together a couple months ago that I'm having problems with now. It's got an NF7-S, Barton 2500+ (stock heatsink/fan), a gig of Mushkin Basic, ati 9600 pro, thermaltake power supply, etc. It was working fine until a couple nights ago. It had been encoding video for a few hours and then the screen went black like that screen saver was gettin ready to come on, but it never did. I turned the computer off and then back on an there was no change. When I turn the computer on, it acts normal with a beep and everything spinning up. I'm getting both red/green lights on the mobo and all fans are working. The only thing is, there is no video. I tried a different video card and it didn't work. I tried the 9600 in another computer and it worked fine. I also tried to boot without any other pci cards in. I've reset the CMOS and pulled the battery. Nothing changed. I'm thinking it's the processor. I just wanted everybody's opinion before I went out buying parts again.

glad you've already did some troubleshooting.. if it's possible - check the CPU in different rig to make sure that's the problem.. you could also try a different PSU..
 
Thanks. I don't have any way of testing the CPU as I don't have another board. Does anybody else think it could be the power supply? I can't find my multimeter and I seemed to have lost my old 350W generic supply...
