So for those of you who have had both, how big of a difference is it between a no touch and a touch handset? Im looking at a blackjack or a Q, OR a HTC mogul or Kaiser (upon release). The first two are significantly cheaper ($200), but aren't touchscreen devices ($350-400).

a comparison of all 5 which is slightly irrelevant, as I pretty much have the stats on all 4 memorized at this point.

The fifth phone there is the polaris. Which is the odd man out as it has no keyboard. Debating whether that would be acceptable as well. Even the cramped keyboards on smartphones would facilitate adding appointments, texting, and etc. But its a VGA device (and has a much bigger screen) which would make the on screen keyboard much easier to use.

So Im looking for opinions from those have had any combo of two of the abov, or their predecessors, to give me some advice.

you suck, get a blackberry. all the cool people have them

I got a Blackberry Pearl. Took some getting used to but it's a pretty nice phone overall. I think I like it more than my parent's Q's.

no touch, no QWERTY, blackberry OS. 3 strikes and its out.

Seriously, get a blackberry, I just came from the Q, it sucked. Windows mobile is terrible. My Q, the blackjack is like the same thing, my girlfriend has a touch-screen MDA and she hates it too.

Just bought a BB8830 and love it. The Blackberry just works, thats more than any windows mobile device can claim. Goodluck with your choice. I thought about getting a treo, but I had enough problems with WM5 on the Q, no need to complicate it even more, I had it with all of the resets and crap.

I used to have a T-Mobile MDA Compact II. It was a full touch screen but I kind of got sick of it, texting on the move was proving difficult etc.

So... I got myself a Sony Ericsson M600i. Its touch screen aswell as having a qwerty keyboard, nothing short of amazing!

The MDA is now a sat nav for the car :D.

I'm just looking for threads involving the Mogul that's headed to my doorstep and found this not too old thread... Seems like you didn't get much.

With the Mogul- you get both. You can navigate it with buttons, or touch. Either one (Being a PDA it is more designed for touch- but whatever floats your boat).
It also has a slideout QWERTY board as well- if you don't like stylus or onscreen crap (the huge advantage to that is it orientates the text screen width- meaning you have a large area to see what you are typing).

Anyway- that's just my personal pref. Get the ability to do both. HTC seems pretty good about that...
