Thinking about Dell 700m - suggestions?

I'm almost at the end of the summer term at UF. My first fall semester is coming up, and i know i'm going to need a laptop because as it is i need one with the 3 BS classes i'm taking. I want the 700m for 2 reasons. #1 It's small. #2 It's cheap (can you say $750 off a $1,499.00 purchase coupon? i can)

i configured a decent lap top for $1517, which brings it down to like $767, which is a great price for a small computer that technically should get my desktops ass. (ti4200, amd 2000+, nothing too special, but whatever)

Are they decent? Does the battery last a long time (i'm out of my dorm and out on the campus at least 6-7 hours with breaks back to the dorm to check email on the desktop) i would probably just stay away from the dorm all day. I wish i had a laptop right now so i could go watch my online records away from my roomate who gets annoying as hell singing and making grunts and shit like he is right now as i'm typing this i'm going to punch him in the face.

Basically what i'm triyng to find out is there a better laptop out there for the price ( 800-900 bucks max) than the 700m ? i need a portable laptop for basic office functions (word processing and what not) with a long battery life and light.
 
i wanted to get it but the period key and a few others are too small which seems like a big issue to me. Check it out.
 
I just bought one today with that coupon and can't wait. I'm tired of lugging that 10-pound AlienClevoSagerWare monster with the 40-minute battery life around just to run torrents off VT's wireless during classes.
