I am having trouble finding the correct or close enough temp for my e-8400. I have used Real Temp, HWmonitor and bios. All three give me a different number and In don't know which to believe or use. Anyone have any recommendations? Real Temp reports 31c idle, HWmonitor 41c idle and bios 21c idle. Nothing is overclocked as of yet and my ambient temp is roughly 72 F ( don't know the conversion of the top of my head ). Any help would be appreciated.

My system:

E-8400
EP35 ds3r
Ocz Vendetta w/ Ocz Freeze
2x2gb G.Skill pc1000
BFG 8800 GTS 512
Seagate 250 gb x2 raid 0
PC Power & Cooling 750 quad
Antec 900

There's about 10 different threads on this subject. Use the search.

RealTemp is the one that I trust. I suggest you read atleast the first post Here Once calibrated RT will give you the most accurate idle/load temps along with the same Delta to TJMax as all the other programs.. It's the one I use.

Everest Ultimate Engineering version is the one I use.

It's very close for both temps and voltages, when compared to my ASUS Bios readings.

RT is ok, pretty close, and like you said, both Coretemp and Realtemp show identical TJMax figures....I use both :p I am not convinced that either of them show the true ACTUAL temp but really, it does not matter, I base my margins on the delta to tjmax, it's accurate that way regardless.
