I am trying to figure out the best or most elegant method of using my computer headset (G430 at the moment) to simultaneously listen to the game or other audio coming from my computer while also using the headset to both hear and talk on the cell.

The primary computer I will be using this on is a homebuilt running win 7. The cell, an iPhone 5s.

I looked at hardware solutions (audio mixers) and came to the conclusion that this would be a mess of wires and several boxes. Though there may be a product that I haven't seen. I also considered using some sort of bluetooth receiver, but I am assuming that some sort of 3rd party software would be required.

When i started searching for a solution, I figured there would be something simple, but I was unable to find anything.

I have no set budget for this, I am just curious what the best options are.

Thanks much.

Roccat Kave XTD 5.1. It connects to your phone by Bluetooth. When you get call, you just press a button on control unit and it mutes the pc sound, to let you talk through the headset. Once you done, it brings back the sound.

Of course it won't beat quality dac/amp + audiophile grade headphones, but is among best surround headsets I used so far.

Nothing really can match good set of audiophile 'phones, but then again, I generally play competitive multiplayer games, and my sound quality requirements in this area aren't quite as high as they are when I am listening to orchestral music or watching a film. So decent is quite good enough.

My big question is do they have an option to subdue background and play the phone over it, or perhaps just layer the call over without volume reduction?

Thanks.

They just kill the sound. Game, music and voice chat are switched off during call. There is no option to change it though. If you connect your phone and male or answer the call during gaming, you will be cut out from other sounds. No way to make it layered upon game noises
