Im having crazy situation. I just installed a MB Neo2 V (865PE), cpu & ram, etc. when plug the cord into the outlet it powers on by itself. I have yet to hit the power switch button.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

update:

I cleared the CMOS & it appears to stopped the MB from powering up on its own. now its hit or miss with detecting the HD :(

The self booting has to do with a power state options in the BIOS. A computer can boot from LAN, keyboard etc.

As far as detecting the harddrive. Turn off RAID settings, try moving to a data SATA port, instead of setting the hard drive to auto detect have it manually detect the drive.

^ yeah it has to do with the power-up options in the bios. Most mobos can wake on LAN or wake on modem ring or a whole host of others. Just go and disable them all. Mine does that too if I enable the "wake on PCI" option in my bios...as soon as it shuts off it turns on again.
