Okay so a quick rundown of specs,

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45_UD3R/UD3
CPU: e8400 @ 3ghz
RAM: 2x2gb Gskill
Vid: ASUS 4870 1gb
OS: Vista x64
HDD: 74gb Raptor + a couple 640gb WD's (the raptor is my OS drive)

Alrighty, so late last night im playing a little bit of DOD: Source before bed when all of the sudden the game crashes to desktop without an error then about 5 seconds later Vista starts to shut down but before it finishes I get that splash screen where it tells you its installing updates and will shut down when its finished, it said it was installing 2 updates and did so fairly quickly. The PC shuts down and begins to restart, I get my bios spash screen and about 5 sec later the computer restarts again. This happens over and over.
Thus far I've tried reseting the CMOS and removing perifrials. Nothing changes. Im totally unable to get into the bios but I am able to TAB out of the splash screen to see whats actually going on, it does the CPU and Memory check and then bam, restarts again.

My thoughts,
Super death virus, which is strange cause I run AVAST constantly and havnt downloaded or installed anything the the past couple days.

Motherboard Fail, but then whats up with the weird random shutdown update

Maybe another piece of shot hardware

Also note the motherboard does not indicate anything with a series of beeps or anything...

So, any ideas

Thanks so much in advance [H]'ers

This system has been rock solid up until now, im pretty computer savvy and have a knack for finding a problem through a process of elimination but this time im totally stumped.

Like format my os drive on another computer? Cause I literally cant do anything on the PC now, like I said I get the bios splash screen and then it restarts and constantly loops like that, I cant even access the bios.

Did anyone running vista get a small update last night or this morning?

Any other ideas?

Try your parts in another PC if possible.
Try a different set of RAM, CPU, video card, or PSU on your system.
