I have some items that are in .sit format but everytime i try to run ANY .sit file stuffit bounces for a minute in the dock and then gives the ol application not responding deal

i have stuffit standard from the apple download page and from allume systems as well and neither work.

I have tested this on my current system and a brand new ibook....any ideas?
or other compression apps that can handle .sit
 
Odd...I had this same problem but figured it was just me. Reinstalled stuffit and the like and the problems continued. It worked fine before and then just stopped. Sorry I have no ideas but I Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.
 
It's a bug in Stuffit. Wait until it finally stops then click off the "look for update" in the preferences.
