I'm trying to find some information on the newer Starforce Proactive system being used. I would rather not buy/support a game and its developer that supports a company like Starforce because of past business practices that I do not agree with, but unfortunately there is no alternative
except not to buy the games.
I have wanted to purchase DCS:Black Shark and a few other games for a while now but their developers choose Starforce as their DMR protection system. When asking if the downloadable version of DCS:Black Shark uses the the same Starforce the retail DVD version uses I am told that Starforce now uses Starforce "Proactive" that does not install drivers/rootkits like the original star force.
Specifically I am trying to figure out if there are any known issues with this "Proactive" protection. Anything that is installed, hidden files or interferes with computer use. This is not a Starforce debate. The information on Starfroce's website isn't very detailed, and with their past I don't feel that I can trust the information presented on their site.
