Look like a a straight up remake with added cutscenes and 4 on 4 multi-player.It's inspired by, not a remake from what I saw. It's supposed to be brand new.

or 80...I want to be interested in this, but I just know they're gonna make it $60-70.
Also, the new character designs are...just weird.
Its not going to be $70+. Going to be $50 digital and $60 physical. I think it should of been a $40/50 game.I want to be interested in this, but I just know they're gonna make it $60-70.

Problem is I need a Switch 2, and I don't really want one for $500+.
They edited the article with further info, including that, after I posted itView attachment 801384
that article says its a remake...
Yea Fox looks weird to me. The others are ok.I want to be interested in this, but I just know they're gonna make it $60-70.

If you watch the trailer and have played/remember Star Fox 64, it's extremely obvious. There might be some changes here and there but most of it was instantly recognizable to me. I played the shit out of that game on the N64.They edited the article with further info, including that, after I posted it. You're right, it indeed is a remake.
Yeah, I recognized every level as well. I hope they add at least one extra level/planet or something to the game though. If you watch the trailer and have played/remember Star Fox 64, it's extremely obvious. Was thinking the exact same thing. It looks great, but I have probably played through this game more than any other game. It should not be hard to make a new Star Fox game.Interested, buy why another remake? It shouldn't be hard to make a space shooter game like this. And no on foot BS. Doesn't even have to be in a linear fashion, there can be more maps that allow you to fly around and neutralize areas.

I think it just does not translate well in the modern era. Once graphics moved away from 2D or low polygons, the characters in games like Starfox look downright creepy.
I wasn't even aware of the 3DS version, lol. I just loaded it up on my sons hacked New 3DS XL and it is def pretty nice, esp. with the gyro controls. I'm just now learning of a ton of games that were ported to the 3DS, like another one was a port of the original Resident Evil - RE: Deadly Silence that actually adds some new gameplay mechanics and content to the original game as well, which is pretty cool. The 3DS remake of Star Fox 64 was good, but sure, I'll take another. Not that I have a Switch 2. But after how Star Fox Zero turned out, the IP needs a win, even if it's rehashing an old game with a shiny coat of paint (for the 2nd time).
I was just thinking to myself recently that Star Fox Assault is the only game in the series I haven't played, and that maybe I should finally check it out. Not expecting great things, but nothing beats getting your own hands-on time. I've heard people talk about it for many years. I should see for myself what it's really like.
look like puppets.
Yes, but it's not a physical medium, there's no reason to make them look like they can barely move other than their mouths.thats the point.
I didn't watch the 15 minute trailer within the 6 minutes between our posts. If you watch the trailer and have played/remember Star Fox 64, it's extremely obvious. Yeah, I played a few of the PC N64 decomp games as well recently and they're awesome!Last year I got the native PC port of Star Fox 64 (https://github.com/HarbourMasters/Starship, from the same crew who ported Zelda OoT, Zelda MM, and Mario Kart 64 to PC) and I've been messing around with it this year. Some nice shiznit. I played the game to death on N64, played the first remake a shit-ton on 3DS, and now here I am messing around with the PC port of the N64 version. And then Nintendo is like "here's yet another version of Star Fox 64!" but I'll have to check it out at my buddy's house cuz I don't have a Switch 2.
Walmart and Amazon have the physical pre-order for sale at $50, too. This price shows when added to cart.Yeah, I played a few of the PC N64 decomp games as well recently and they're awesome!
Game is going only going to be $50 for digital ($60 for physical) surprisingly - https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/star-fox-switch-2/
I fully expected them to charge $70 for it. So this will be an insta-buy for me.
The characters make me feel uncomfortable for some reason.
8bitdo has a N64 controller that works on Switch 2 with a modern ergonomic design. I have a white one for N64 emulation and it's great. You can get it in classic grey directly from them for $5 more.I'm in for $60 prolly, but fully expect it to be $70. I haven't played the original since that era and think it looks great other than the odd looking character models. I'm digging the N64 controller support too and also mouse controls could also be good. Despite being a remake, the gameplay experience looks new enough to be considered a new game to me, and they're adding new content and challenges as well.
If it's more than $60, I'll just borrow it from my local library like I did for DK Bananza, Link's Awakening, and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.
You're really not going to want one for $600+ later this year then.
