I use GMAIL for all my email accounts, mainly 2 POP accounts that are vital for work.

One account, lets call "A" i have access to and have the email server forward the email right to my gmail account, it is nearly instantoues.

However, email account "B" i do NOT have direct access to the email setup, and i am accessing using POP3 access.

Sadly, GMAIL checks the POP accounts when it wants to, and GMAIL has not allowed you any option to increase the frequency.

I just got an email 45 mins later after it was sent from the sender, which frankly is way too long.

So, I love gmail, but what options do I have here?

I NEED to have access to my email on any computer / PDA. That ability to answer emails almost anywhere has been a real advantage.

Try IMAP instead of POP3 access? I have a few gmail accounts I access using IMAP and haven't had a problem so far unless there is a problem on gmail's end at which point it doesn't matter what you use to access it.

I've noticed that POP does have a set-in interval for checking for new messages. I'm using IMAP on my PDA for GMail, and it's been working great. +1 for IMAP.

hmm but i need a solution that lets me access my mail from any computer, like GMAIL does....

so.... is there another web based email program with similar features?

This is a sad but true side affect of pulling in other accounts into Gmail via POP3. It, like you said, checks the accounts when it wants, not at the interval you set. Very annoying. What is worse, is Gmail doesn't support pulling in IMAP accounts, which would probably solve you're problem.
