Sony motherboard Security tabs?

Can anyone tell me what these are for or what they do?
They looks like some sort of security tab to make sure the motherboard is in all the way. not sure though.

They are the gold tab looking pieces. There are 4 big ones there.

I'm not sure what you're refering to in that picture? The long copper contact, roughly in the center of your pic, under and just to the left of your thumb, even though your pic is only showing one of them? If so I don't have any more of an idea what it is, than I do of why you're refering to it as a tab.
