bad rounds happen and what you read is based on law of averages. You can't really hit the "average" on a small sample. Those calculators are usually off pretty far anyway.

I would like to understand this a bit more.

the coins im going for have a block time of typically 60 seconds. That's the round time... correct?

MPOS is saying i should be hitting a block around 40 minutes. I get thats an estimation but im wanting to understand why two sites are saying under an hour block time and yet over a course of a few days it's taking me 3+ hours to find the blocks.

Sometimes you'll get 10 blocks in an hour, sometimes you'll get 1 block in 10 days.

It's quite literally based on "luck".
