SlimSAS to E3.s?

I've got some SlimSAS (PCIe4 x4) ports doing nothing on my motherboard. My next NAS upgrade is going to transition to flash. I'm wondering if there's a way to start buying the drives now, and just move 'em over to the NAS in a year or two.

Basically, is there an adapter or series of adapters that would allow me to plug an E3.s drive into a SlimSAS port? I've found MCIO -> E3, but not SlimSAS. Hopefully ya'll got better Google-Fu.

Try using the standards name (MiniSAS->SAS-8654, E.3->EDSFF/Gen-Z) as a part of your search. I got a lot of hits in various dimensions there.

Are you able to use a U.2 adapter?

Almost what I'm looking for. Just need a SAS-8654/MiniSAS 4i -> 1C version instead of an 8i -> dual 1C.
